Wednesday, March 13 to Sunday March 17, 2021
With Utah's largest ski resort as our backyard, we'll be guests for four nights at the Canyons Resort Silverado Lodge. It's a spacious Western retreat with outdoor heated pool and hot tub, free WiFi, in-room gas fireplaces, mini fridges, comfy rustic charm and all the modern amenities of the Canyons village lodging. It's quite new; the hotel was built just a few years ago. We've got cool cafes, restaurants, ski rentals and more right there on property, and the lifts are just a two minute walk from our hotel.
We will ski and ride for three days. The trip includes a 2-day lift ticket for the Canyons, which we'll use on Thursday & Saturday. (Thursday also includes a complimentary on-mountain guided tour.) For Friday, you can choose from the three Park City ski areas; you'll buy your Friday lift ticket in person at the resort you choose. Those who select the Canyons can buy a ticket for an incredible discount ($57).
Cars aren't necessary for this trip. Ironically, it's nearly impossible to park in Park City. There are many free buses which serve the ski areas and downtown Main Street.
Breakfasts and lunches are up to you; we'll meet as a group each day. In the evenings, we'll have dinner reservations on Thursday and Saturday. Friday night is a "free night" for you make your own plans. Saturday's dinner on Main Street in Park City is included; it's a delicious 3-course gourmet dinner at the super swanky newcomer, Silver Lounge.
We are happy to arrange roommates for you. Typically, half of our participants sign up without a roommate in mind. We'll ask a few easy questions and accommodate your preferences.

Single occupancy: a limited number of single occupancy slots are available. Please contact us to inquire about availability before booking a single occupancy.
Equipment rentals are not included; you can get a discounted rental at the Canyons rental shop on property. Complimentary overnight ski & snowboard storage is included for all guests. We expect about a third of our participants to rent skis & boards.
We recommend this trip for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Beginners: The Park City resorts are very beginner-friendly; The Canyons has excellent beginner areas and a top-notch staff. You should book a lesson for the first day. Visit the ski school >

Intermediates: You may have heard that Utah's blues are the equivalent of the East Coast's blacks. While that is true, when you discover the fun (and the ease) of skiing & riding in powder snow, you will never want to scrape your way down an icy slope again. The Park City resorts are big, spread out marvels with so many ways down the mountain that you may never trace the same trail twice. You will adore The Canyons, and Deer Valley is a groomed intermediate skier haven.

Advanced skiers and riders: Historically, March is Utah's snowiest month, and the interconnected areas around Park City serve up so much excellent terrain that your head will spin. The Canyons is the sort of place where you can do laps off a chair and hit freshies every time. The Park City resorts are not quite as steep as nearby Snowbird / Alta -- it's much harder to get into trouble here, so you can switch on your auto-pilot and let gravity be your guide. These mountains are fun to explore.
Unfortunately, SKI BUMS cannot assist with trip extensions on our trip. If you'd like to arrive a day early or depart late, please make your own arrangements.

The best thing about Park City is… always up for debate. Some say it's the snow: it's so dry, fluffy and abundant that it's known as "the best snow on earth." Some say it's the town; the annual Sundance Film Festival brings a cosmopolitan charm that fills the historic streets with swanky restaurants and beautiful galleries. Others say it's the terrain; there are seven world class ski resorts within a stone's throw of one another. But for us, the access is what really sets Utah apart. All this big fluffy powder skiing is a mere 30-minute drive from the SLC airport. How's that for a soft landing?

This trip is sold out. You're encouraged to add your name to our wait list, in case of a cancellation.

Upon arrival in Park City, all participants receive a detailed itinerary with meeting times, events, & helpful tips. Here is an overview of our trip, to help you think through scheduling, packing, etc.
If you're a cross country skier, the Park City areas are some of the nation's best. We can remove our lift tickets from the package for you. You may also enjoy the Olympic luge track; anyone can ride it. If you do not ski or snowboard at all, our trips to Whistler, Aspen Snowmass or Breckenridge have more to offer non-skiers. That said, we can remove the lift ticket for anyone upon request.
Travel day. The trip officially begins at 8 PM at our Welcome Reception inside the hotel, where you'll meet the other participants, meet the SKI BUMS trip leaders, get your itinerary & lift tickets.
All SKI BUMS trips begin with a skill level meet up, where we'll help you connect with other skiers and snowboarders who enjoy the same kind of terrain that you do. Allowing for some adjustments along the way, most groups end up with about four to six people, but it's common to mix it up.

On Thursday, we'll start with a special treat: each group will enjoy a complimentary guided tour by one of the Canyons professional ski guides.

Each day, we ski and ride in small groups, then meet up as a big group for lunch and après-ski. We may adjust our itinerary based on the conditions; the trip leaders post regular updates via Twitter and text message. Our three days of skiing / riding are Thursday through Saturday.

We'll have a dinner reservation Thursday night. Friday night is a "free night" for you to make your own plans. All meals are casual; no formal attire is needed.

Park City is the name of the main town; it's about thirty minutes from the Salt Lake City International airport. The three Park City ski areas are The Canyons (where we're staying), Deer Valley Ski Resort and Park City Mountain Resort.
Salt Lake City locals are absolutely invited to join us; please contact us to set up a custom trip.
