Sometimes, new SKI BUMS members don't know what to expect for our daytrip bus rides home. "I brought a book,"
confessed one newbie on a recent daytrip.
Little did he know. After we'd taken our roll call to make sure we had all
fifty BUMS on board, we broke out the home made food, passed the cold beers, and started crankin'
the jams.
Before long, people were drinking, laughing, and workin' the aisle... and, being the skilled skiers and snowboarders
that we are, we were doing it all with
remarkably good balance.

Yes, these are the roving apres-ski parties that have made our daytrips so
famously fun. If you look at what makes them so unique, though, it isn't
the mere fact that we can balance a beer on a bus, or that we can all
have a great time without gettin'
messy. It isn't even the old-school charm
of all that homemade food...

It's the fact that we bring this same passion to our skiing and boarding.

Our daytrips start
bright and early -- 6:00 AM for this one -- and upon
arrival, we break up into groups based on our skill levels. We'll have
everyone from beginnerish newbies to advanced hucksters, and we'll
each have our own personal goals. For some, that's making it down
a blue run without bitin' it. For others, that's pulling off a new trick on
the terrain park. Whatever your skill level, you know you'll meet others
who enjoy the same trails you do.

As you can imagine, after a day like this, we've got a lot to celebrate. If
you're new to SKI BUMS and you sign up for this trip, we'll be thrilled to
have you. Bring your own challenge. And, for the party bus home, bring
some good food, and maybe something to drink... but feel free to leave
the books at home. :)
