Simply by signing up for SKI BUMS membership, you are invited to attend any trip that SKI BUMS hosts, anywhere in the world.
When a trip is hosted by a specific chapter, you'll have the added fun of knowing that an extra proportion of members from that chapter will participate.

We take our gear shop recommendations seriously. Each shop on our list has high-quality equipment, well-trained staff (who know their stuff) and LGBT-friendly practices. If you'd like us to consider an additional gear shop, contact us.

For each of the cities below, SKI BUMS has a number of active local members who have begun recruiting additional members with the plans to form a new full-fledged chapter -- which is why we call them Forming Chapters.

We've hosted several Avalanche parties in Atlanta; our Georgia members are extra enthusiastic, and they'll often band together on one or two trips per season.
We're hosting our very first Avalanche in Boston this fall. Date TBA.
We've hosted several Denver Avalanche parties. Our Colorado members are especially eager to develop a Denver chapter; the potential for local trips is extra exciting. We simply need to recruit more members -- so sign up for membership and tell your friends!
We've got quite a few members in Southern Cali; we've hosted a few Avalanche parties in West Hollywood and we'll certainly do more.
Our members in Southern Florida make us laugh; they're all convinced that there are no other gays nearby who like to ski or snowboard. They're wrong. We've got about a dozen members from the Miami area -- when that number increases, an Avalanche is inevitable!
We've hosted a handful of Avalanche get-togethers in Salt Lake City, and we'll continue to do more, including during this season's trip to Alta / Snowbird / Solitude / Brighton. Utah locals are welcome to join our Utah trips; contact us to set up a custom trip!
We've got a surprisingly high number of Facebook fans from Australia. We're hoping to host our first Sydney events very soon.
We're just beginning to reach out to college and university students. If you've got ideas on fun ways to spread the word to other college kids, let us know!
We've got more than two dozen members who work in or around the snow sports industry, including many instructors, patrollers, lift operators and those who work in hospitality. Others work in gear manufacturing and design. Some are sponsored competitive skiers and snowboarders; some are true 'ski bums,' working odd jobs just to ski and ride as much as possible. Others are executives within their companies. Many of them are not out to their colleagues. We're working on ways to help our members support one another, while working with organizations like Equality Utah to help the ski resort and snow sport industry adopt LGBT-friendly workplace practices.
