Important!
We've got incredible accommodations for this trip. You'll rest your head at Trip Advisor's #1-ranked hotel in Zermatt, the swanky new CERVO Mountain Boutique Resort. Undeniably one of the hippest hotels in the Alps -- and recommended by Ski Magazine -- this stylish design hotel is a ski-in, ski-out property with sleek modern details, flat screen TV's, beautiful views and one of the hottest restaurants in town. it's perfect for a fun-loving, laid-back group like the BUMS.

Our trip includes a "5 out of 7" day lift pass, which is valid for all the Zermatt and Cervinia lifts and gondolas. You may add a sixth day if you like. Get more info >

Our first day of skiing / riding will be Sunday. Most BUMS will take at least one day off; the town of Zermatt is a charming place to spend a day relaxing, enjoying the spa or going shopping.
Zermatt is a car-free town; there are public trams, electric buses and railways for easy public transportation among the various areas and gondolas in the Zermatt ski areas.
Our trip includes daily breakfasts and three pre-paid dinners at some of Zermatt's most celebrated restaurants. The cost of all other meals and drinks are up to you.

As with all SKI BUMS trips, space is limited. Only those who sign up via the SKI BUMS website may join the trip. The discounted pricing of our preview period may end at any time.

During our preview period, limited details are publicly published on the SKI BUMS site; if you have any questions about this trip, please contact us directly here >

roommates
We are happy to arrange roommates for you. Typically, half of our participants sign up without a roommate in mind. We'll ask a few easy questions and accommodate your preferences.

Single occupancy: a limited number of single occupancy slots are available. Please contact us to inquire about availability before booking a single occupancy.
Equipment
Equipment rentals are not included in our trip price. Upon arrival in Zermatt, you'll have time to pick up rental equipment -- there are many well-stocked rental shops in town. Here's one.
Equipment
We recommend this trip for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Beginners would be wise to plan to take lessons while in Zermatt. Although there is spectacular beginner terrain here -- one of the few places in the world with green runs at the top of a mountain -- there will be relatively few beginners on this particular trip.
Extensions
Like many hotels in Zermatt, our hotel requests 7-night stays, which makes it difficult to extend a stay for a day or two. As the date of the trip approaches, hotels which are not fully occupied may accommodate one or two night stays, but SKI BUMS cannot assist with these reservations. Outside our itinerary, you're own your own. Post a message on Facebook to connect with other BUMS >

transfer
We recommend traveling between the Zurich or Geneva airports into Zermatt by train. It's easier than it may sound -- it's also scenic and comfy. Click here for in-depth recommendations.

Click here to purchase a train ticket from Genève to Täsch, via Visp: it's about $45 USD.

After arriving in Zermatt by train, our hotel offers a complimentary transfer for you and your luggage from the Zermatt train station to the hotel's convenient check-in area.

When the full details of our trip go public on the SKI BUMS site this summer, we'll post specific recommendations for train travel, including a public online forum where you can make plans alongside other BUMS. Take note:
cars are not permitted in Zermatt.
You may choose to fly into Geneva or Zurich -- they're both about 3.5 to 4 hours away from Zermatt by train. (Learn more > ) The first item on our itinerary will be a welcome reception at our hotel on Saturday evening, so we recommend flying into Switzerland on Saturday morning.

Take note: when flying from the USA, you'll depart on Friday, March 22 and arrive in Switzerland on Saturday, March 23. Our departure date is Saturday, March 30.

Flights
Historically, September / October is the best time to buy a March flight to Switzerland. We recommend setting up a weekly price alert at kayak.com
