Wednesday March 6 to Sunday March 10, 2022
Ranked #2 on Conde Nast Traveler's list of America's 50 best ski resort hotels, the LEED-certified Hotel Terra is a modern ski-in, ski-out hotel at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With hip decor, a gay-friendly staff and a delicious restaurant on property, it's no wonder why the BUMS love it so much. After a challenging day on the slopes, you can visit its excellent spa or soak your tired muscles in the big rooftop hot tub overlooking the legendary après-ski bar, The Mangy Moose.
Our trip includes a 3 day lift pass. Our first day of skiing / riding will be Thursday, March 7th. You may purchase an additional single day lift ticket for a discount upon arrival in Jackson.
There's no need for a car at Jackson Hole. Common amenities are available in Teton Village, and there are convenient buses which travel between Teton Village and the town of Jackson.
No trip to Jackson Hole is complete without a visit to the historic, charming Jackson Town Square. We'll be celebrating our final night in style with a trip to the best restaurant in town, the award-winning Snake River Grill. This gourmet meal features fresh local produce, organic locally sourced game and a warm Western rustic setting. Afterwards, you can mosey on up to the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.
Here's what's included in the trip price: 4 night lodging, 3 day lift ticket, 1 dinner, personal assistance & trip coordination from the SKI BUMS trip leaders

Not included: Air transportation to Jackson. See "air scheduling," above. | Ground transfers from the airport to our hotel | Most breakfasts and Lunches | Equipment rental | Three dinners
We are happy to arrange roommates for you. Typically, half of our participants sign up without a roommate in mind. We'll ask a few easy questions and accommodate your preferences.

Single occupancy: a limited number of single occupancy slots are available. Please contact us to inquire about availability before booking a single occupancy.
Upon arrival at Teton Village, you'll have time to pick up rental equipment. We recommend Teton Village Sports, just steps away from our hotel. When you pick up your gear, mention SKI BUMS for a special group discount. Typically, about a third of the BUMS rent gear when we visit Jackson Hole. Our hotel offers complimentary overnight gear storage.
We recommend this trip for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Beginners: There is very little easy terrain at Jackson Hole, and we expect no beginners on this trip. Those who care to join us are welcome; you should enroll in lessons each day.

Intermediates: This is a perfect resort to experience the childlike fun of powder conditions and the excitement of eye-popping vistas. The terrain will reward and inspire you, especially the bowls.

Advanced skiers and riders: Jackson Hole's black diamond runs offer the most consistently steep pitch of any ski resort in the USA. Its 4,105 foot vertical drop is America's largest. This terrain is legendary, offering wide open snow basins, tight tree runs and high-speed cruisers. If you enjoy getting off-piste, the ungroomed areas will positively wow you.
If you'd like to arrive a day early or depart late, SKI BUMS can assist with a discounted rate at our hotel, but you must book the room through SKI BUMS. Contact us for details and pricing.
Teton Village is a breezy 25-minute drive from the Jackson airport. Contact AllTrans to book a shared ground transfer; you should make your reservation about a week in advance.
The BUMS will be flying into Jackson from multiple locations; several airlines have added new direct flights this season, including a new non-stop from NYC on United. Our welcome reception happens at the hotel at 8 PM on Wednesday, and you won't want to miss it. Sunday is a travel day.

There's a kind of reverence that you'll hear when people talk about Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It isn't America's largest resort, or its glitziest. But if you poll the most die-hard skiers and snowboarders in America, a consensus quickly begins to emerge: Jackson Hole is America's best ski resort. While Alta may beg to differ, the snowboard-friendly terrain of the Tetons and the come-as-you-are cozy village attitude are impossible to beat. With four nights at the modern, eco-friendly ski-in, ski-out Hotel Terra, this trip is the perfect chance to experience skiing and snowboarding in its purest, finest form.

Upon arrival at Jackson Hole, all participants receive a detailed itinerary with meeting times, events, & helpful tips. Here is an overview of our trip, to help you think through scheduling, packing, etc.
We do not recommend this trip for participants who do not plan to ski or ride. (If you're not on Jackson's perfect slopes, the best time for a Jackson Hole adventure is in the summer). That said, we can remove the lift ticket from the package upon request.
Travel day. The trip officially begins at 8 PM at our Welcome Reception inside the hotel, where you'll meet the other participants, meet the SKI BUMS trip leaders, get your itinerary & lift tickets.
All SKI BUMS trips begin with a skill level meet up, where we'll help you connect with other skiers and snowboarders who enjoy the same kind of terrain that you do. Allowing for some adjustments along the way, most groups end up with about four to six people, but it's common to mix it up.

Each day, we ski and ride in small groups, then meet up as a big group for lunch and après-ski. We may adjust our itinerary based on the conditions; the trip leaders post regular updates via Twitter and text message. Our three days of skiing / riding are Thursday through Saturday.

We'll have a dinner reservation Thursday night. Friday night is a "free night" for you to make your own plans (we recommend
Couloir.) All meals are casual; no formal attire is needed.

Celebrate our final night with cocktails followed by a pre-paid dinner at Snake Mountain Grill, a delicious restaurant in the heart of Jackson's historic town square. Late night drinks at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar are sure to follow.
Sunday is a travel day. After an informal "goodbye breakfast," participants will head home. We encourage you to stay in touch with your new SKI BUMS friends by sharing messages & photos on Facebook.
Jackson is the main town; about twenty minutes up a mountain pass is Teton Village, where our hotel and the Jackson Hole ski resort are located. View our Google map >
"What will the skill levels be of the other trip participants?"

Based on previous trips to Jackson Hole, it's safe to estimate that about 50% of our participants will be strong intermediates, 25% will be advanced and another 25% will identify as experts. While intermediates will likely stick to the groomers with occasional forays into black diamond territory, the advanced group will look to push themselves with off-piste exploration and steeper runs. The expert group will maintain a quick pace through ungroomed terrain, tree runs, mogul fields and deep powder. Whatever your skill level, there will be others who enjoy the same terrain that you do.
