This trip is designed for the fun-loving set; with casinos, bars, and the party cruise aboard
the Tahoe Queen  -- which takes us to and from our day at Squaw Valley -- it's going to
be an amazing chance to take in Tahoe's famous late season. Expect sunshine, goggle
tans, and spring skiing and riding in one of the world's most
gorgeous ski areas. And, if
you're the kinda BUM who likes to sleep in every now and then, this is the trip for you; the
gondola to Heavenly is a five minute walk.

Staying right in Lake Tahoe can be pricey; to save some dough, we've selected the
Horizon Resort & Casino, which is essentially a glorified
Holiday Inn atop a sprawling
entertainment multi-plex, complete with a 24-hour casino, bars, restaurants, an 8-screen
cineplex, arcade, etc.  Expect clean, basic rooms, comfortable beds, and standard
amenities. This will save us some cash, while still giving us quick and easy (e.g.,
walkable) access to the fun of Lake Tahoe (we won't need to rent cars). We do get to use
the pool / sauna at the recently hipped-up
Montbleu Resort & Spa, which will be fun. It's
literally
across the street. Check out Heavenly's trail map, and scroll in to see where the
gondola sits in relation to the village. We're a five-minute walk to the gondola, at the
tallest hotel on that map.

The resorts: Heavenly is Tahoe's largest and highest resort; we'll do two days there,
plus one day at
Squaw Valley, which offers a great assortment of runs, including
numerous open bowls and world-famous steeps. If you're an advanced skier / rider, you'll
want to
click here to check out Squaw's terrain & backcountry areas.

If you're a beginner skier or snowboarder: you should plan to spend some days on
the slopes earlier in the season, take a few lessons, to prepare for Tahoe. There are
limited beginner trails at Heavenly, more at Squaw, but many intermediate trails at each
resort that you'll enjoy. This would also be a
great place to hire a good instructor, then
take a few days to work on your technique in one of world's most visually stunning ski
locales. SKI BUMS can help you find one. :)

*Value option: If you prefer to book your own airfare, select the value option. We will
provide you with our flight information
upon request, so you may join our private coach to
and from Lake Tahoe. If your flight is delayed, however, you will need to
arrange your
own transfer for the 90-minute ride to Lake Tahoe. With this option, SKI BUMS cannot
refund any unused portions of your trip due to delayed arrival or early departure. There
are a limited number of spots available at this price.

Equipment rental: For those would like to rent equipment, we will provide names and
locations of recommended equipment rental shops at Lake Tahoe.

Roommates: After signing up for this trip, you may make request to share a room with
someone. If no request is made, SKI BUMS will arrange a roommate for you. We tend to
put people together who are around the same age.

Single-occupancy: There may be single occupancy spots available for an upgrade
charge.
Email us to check for availability.

A note on airline seat assignments: Because we buy our airfare through special
group fares (which, unlike published fares, allow you to secure a seat without paying the
full ticket price), you may not make seat assignment requests.

Cancellations: We invite you to read our cancellation policy.
