About four hours and forty five minutes north of Manhattan, America's largest ski resort in the East sprawls across seven mountain peaks. It's got 200 distinct trails, 32 lifts, and a mega 1,250 acres of skiable terrain. The longest trail is ten and a half miles long. This is Killington, and it's the Vermont resort of choice for the 2010 SKI BUMS Season.

Every winter, SKI BUMS orchestrates a mass exodus to converge at a resort in Vermont, and these weekends have become famous for a few things. One, it's the chance to spend three uninterrupted days of skiing and boarding -- an escape to the mountains that easily makes you forget the city. And two, the opportunity to get to know people in a way that you just can't when you're simply hanging out at a bar. Every year, the BUMS arrive in Vermont with folks they've only briefly met, and return home with a new group of great friends. It's an adventurous weekend... and all the more so when you're in a place like Killington.

New for 2010, our members have the chance to sign up for Killington with our new Summer Preview Special. Our discounted rate offers you significant savings -- and the opportunity to score an early spot on one of one of our most highly anticipated trips.

• Three-night stay in comfortable, conveniently located Pinnacle Condos at the Killington Resort. Those who sign up for our early Summer Preview offer will arrange their own condo-mates. Each unit features a full kitchen, gas fireplace, washer & dryer,TV, DVD / VCR, and free WiFi. All our units are within easy walking distance of one another. You can also enjoy the Pinnacle Spa, an indoor recreational facility with a bar, a workout room, game room, TV lounge, sauna, steam room, and two hot tubs.
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday night social events -- including a return to the world-famous Wobbly Barn!

Bedding setup:

All our pre-season preview condos are 3 bedroom condos. Each has the following setup options:

1st BR: One king bed OR two twin beds (your choice). 2nd BR: Two twin beds. 3rd BR: Two twin beds. Living room features a queen pullout sofa.

How our Summer Preview Special works :

• While we're finalizing the details of our trip, our members have the chance to obtain a discount by signing up early. If you're not a member yet, you can become one here; we'll even extend your membership through the 2010 season.
• By signing up early, you'll receive both a significant discount and a generous cancellation policy. All those who sign up during our preview period may cancel their spot for any reason and receive a full refund; this offer is good through September 31st, 2009.
• The full details of our trip will be published in September; if, at that time, the trip no longer seems right for you, simply cancel your spot for no penalty.

• The details of this trip are subject to change. While we finalize the specifics of our trip, we'll be sure to pursue the same high-quality standards that SKI BUMS members have come to expect. We will promptly notify all those who have signed up for this trip with any significant changes to our trip outline.

NEW PRICING STRUCTURE FOR 2010

New for 2010, our Vermont pricing has two separate portions:

• Lodging: This covers your condo accommodations.
• Event Pass: this covers your lift tickets, equipment rental, and our event space & catering costs.

IMPORTANT NOTES*: Please read this carefully.

* With our pre-season discount, you'll prepay the Lodging Portion and secure a condo for our entire weekend -- you'll be a designated condo captain for your unit. Condo captains will invite whomever they'd like to stay in their condo and make any necessary payment arrangements with their condo's guests to cover lodging costs.

* All those who participate in any portion of the SKI BUMS trip to Killington -- skiing / riding with us, dining with us, or attending our social events -- must be registered members, and each must purchase an Event Pass through SKI BUMS. We will have a selection of Event Pass options for those who own equipment, those who have Killington season passes, etc. Event passes go on sale in September; the estimated price of our Event Pass is $250 - $350 per person, depending on whether you need equipment, if you want to add a group lesson, etc.

*You do not need to know the names of your condo's guests now. We will finalize our event roster approximately one month before the trip. For those who are new to SKI BUMS, we will have a select number of condos that we'll arrange for you; these condos will become available when the regular signup begins in September.

Cancellation policy for the Lodging Portion of the Summer Preview condo captains:

Between October 1 and November 1: $200 fee. Between November 1 and November 30: $500 fee. After November 30th: no refund. SKI BUMS strongly recommends the purchase of traveler's insurance to guard against unforeseen cancellations.
