SKI BUMS :: Gay & lesbian skiing and snowboarding club

SKI BUMS was founded in 2003 in New York City in the simple hopes of finding a new group of gay friends to go ski and snowboard. Within a few years, SKI BUMS had attracted hundreds of members. Today, SKI BUMS is the world’s largest LGBT skiing and snowboarding club, with more than 750 members from 35 states, Canada and overseas. We host social events and more than a dozen annual group trips to the world’s best ski resorts in the West, the Northeast, Europe and South America.

SKI BUMS trips are open exclusively to our registered members. Annual membership dues are $45 per person. Skiers and snowboarders of ALL SKILL LEVELS are part of SKI BUMS, and we heartily welcome everyone from total newbies to seasoned pros. On our trips, SKI BUMS organizes everything: housing, meals, après-ski, restaurant reservations, lift tickets, coordinated group lessons, equipment rentals and transportation. Most SKI BUMS trips have between 35 and 50 participants. Roughly 1/3 of our members are snowboarders, and 1 in 5 of our members are female.

In 2010, SKI BUMS launched a brand new chapter in Washington, DC with local social events to spread the word. In January, 2011, we’ll begin hosting daytrips and weekend getaways for our DC members to Mid-Atlantic resorts, including:
