SKI BUMS :: Help us in the fight against AIDS

If you'd like to show your support by walking with us in Central Park on Sunday, May 17th, sign up to join our Walking Team.

It's an early start for the day -- 9 AM -- but there's something truly exhilarating about joining with 40,000
New Yorkers in a day of unified support for a cause that's so important to such a wide spectrum of people across the world. You'll walk with us alongside New Yorkers of all ages in a day that's much more heartwarming than foot-tiring. :)

don't need to be a member of SKI BUMS. Join us!

Note: If you're on our Walking Team, you'll also be able
to raise donations, and if you're on our Online Team, you
can still decide to walk with us!

One of the best things about our AIDS Walk campaign is that there are three ways to help -- and you don't even need to leave the house. :)

AIDS Walk New York is the world's largest AIDS-related fund-raising event. Each year, people from all walks of life come together to raise funds to help tens of thousands of men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS. Beneficiaries include GMHC, God's Love We Deliver, AID for AIDS and the AIDS Resource Center for Children / St. Clare's Home.

Thankfully, you don't need to be a New Yorker to participate!

SKI BUMS is a proud Co-Chair of AIDS Walk New York. In each of the last few years, we've raised over $10,000, marking us one of the city's top fund-raising teams. This year, we've got an especially ambitious goal: to raise $15,000. We need all the help we can get. Here's how you can join the fight:

About us

SKI BUMS is committed to partnering with the GLBT community and the ski and snowboard industry to benefit charitable causes.

As the largest GLBT skiing and snowboarding club in the world, we are proud of our numerous volunteer fund-raisers, event corporate sponsors and generous donors. In our 2008 - 2009 season, we raised more than $23,000 and donated prize packages benefitting AIDS Walk New York, Lambda Legal and the New York City Gay and Lesbian Community Center.

We can't do this on our own; we need YOUR help! We're looking to recruit at least 50 people for our Online Team.

As a member of online AIDS Walk team, you won't even need to leave the comfort of your home or office; all we'll ask you to do is send an email. It couldn't be easier.

Specifically for gay / bisexual men, this week-long journey through the wilderness of New Mexico includes workshops in Zen meditation, personal contemplation and connecting with the world around you. If you're not male (or if you're one of our straight allies -- who we love), you're free to give the week-long vacation to whomever you think might enjoy it most! This trip is a $1500 value -- and you could win for a donation of just fifty bucks!
