Space is limited, and this trip is now SOLD OUT.

Anyone registered SKI BUMS may join our wait list. There's no obligation, but only those who are currently registered members will receive an offer.

Sign up or renew your membership >

If a space becomes available, we notify you on a first-come, first-served basis. You'll be given a window of time to accept or decline the offer. If you choose to accept the spot, payment is required at the time of signup.

Please do not contact us to ask us your likelihood of receiving a wait list offer; we can't predict when cancellations will come in.

We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or make changes in the trip itinerary as a result of weather or safety considerations or as otherwise deemed necessary or advisable. If your trip is cancelled or rescheduled due to weather, snow, or mountain conditions, or circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full credit for a future trip. All trip credits may be applied to any trip in the SKI BUMS future. There is no expiration date.

SKI BUMS is not responsible for the cost of any additional expenses that you may incur as a result of trip rescheduling or cancellation (airline ticketing fees, etc.).

To use a credit for a future deposit or payment, please
contact us directly.
Through November 15, you may cancel your spot at any time and receive a full refund. After November 16, the following cancellation fees apply:

For cancellations received from November 16 - November 31, $200 fee. For cancellations received from December 1 - December 10, $300 fee. After December 11th, 2014: no refund.

In order to obtain our bulk group discounts, we must agree to a very strict cancellation policy. It's the nature of group travel. Think of your SKI BUMS booking as you would an airline reservation; even we find someone to take your place,
the cancellation fees still apply.

If you buy travel insurance, you can still receive a refund for a cancelled SKI BUMS trip.

BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE. WE CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.

A travel insurer can provide a refund even when SKI BUMS cannot. In the circumstance that you need to cancel your trip because of work or health reasons, you should purchase travel insurance within 30 days of your initial trip deposit.

Even if you purchase travel insurance after this date, some coverage is much better than no coverage at all. Our cancellation policy is strict, and after cancellation fees kick in, a travel insurer may be your only chance for a full refund.

There are many travel insurers, and policies are
very affordable. We especially recommend travelinsured.com, and suggest you add the sports package to cover skiing & snowboarding activity.

This trip is all about affordability... and we save big bucks by staying a short distance from the ski resort. We've got a comfortable two night stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites in neighboring Lincoln, NH. It's got an indoor pool, game and arcade room, fitness center, complimentary WiFi and a tasty free hot breakfast. It's exactly what you'd expect: no frills, but clean, comfortable and convenient. The slopes are only a seven-minute drive away.
Your trip includes a two day adult lift ticket for Loon Ski Resort.

Note: If you or your travel partner do not ski or snowboard -- or if you hold season tickets -- we can remove the lift tickets from our package; contact us to make arrangements. (See "non-skiers," below.)
Friday night and Sunday night, we'll stop for fast food at a rest stop along the way.

Saturday's
dinner is included in the trip price, and Saturday and Sunday's breakfast is included at our hotel. Each day, we'll meet each day at one of the cafeterias for lunch; those costs are up to you.
We are happy to arrange roommates for you. Typically, half of our participants sign up without a roommate in mind. We'll ask a few easy questions and accommodate your preferences.

Room types: our rooms have either 2 queen beds or 1 king bed. You'll be given a room with 2 queen beds unless you specifically request otherwise.

Single occupancy: a limited number of single occupancy spots are available. You may upgrade during sign up.
You may add a 2-day equipment rental during signup for a discounted price -- $66 for two days. We expect that about two-thirds of our participants will rent equipment on this trip.

You may also add a discounted
group lesson for $50. Group lessons may be used at 10 AM on Saturday or Sunday, and our trip leaders will coordinate groups based on skill level among those who opt to take a lesson.

If you did not add a rental or lesson during sign up and you'd like to add it at a later date, contact us.
SKI BUMS designs our season for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, but we make specific recommendations for each trip. On ALL SKI BUMS trips, we begin by dividing into skill level groups so you can identify those who enjoy the same terrain that you do. See how our groups work >

We recommend this trip for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Beginners: you should absolutely take this trip. Having two back-to-back days will do wonders for your confidence, and the beginner & intermediate terrain at Loon is excellent for newbies. Instruction at Loon is $50 for a group class; please add in a lesson at signup!

Intermediates: the intermediate runs at Loon are rich and varied, covering 60% of the terrain, with a number of really long runs that weave in and out of the trees and offer up beautiful views. This is a fun hill for intermediates, and you'll have a lot to choose from over our two full days.

Advanced skiers and riders: Loon's got a large vertical drop for the northeast, and there's a great collection here of black diamond runs.  If you're hunting for the steepest stuff in Vermont, consider Stratton, but there's more than enough challenge here to get your leg burn going!

Loon, New Hampshire is one of the northeast's most-loved resorts. With very easy accessibility from New York City -- just four hours away -- and Boston -- only two -- it's warmly welcomed groups of skiers and snowboarders for nearly five decades. It's also gotten ranked in Ski Magazine's list of the top 10 best resorts in the East, and with recent expansions that have added even more terrain, it's easy to understand why it's New Hampshire's most popular ski resort.

Loon's got 12 ski lifts which serve up ample terrain for all skill levels -- and with two fun-filled days here, you'll have time to become an expert on your favorite run!

Of course, weather is impossible to predict, but SKI BUMS plans our trips with an eye on weather history. February is the snowiest month at Loon, and the ample snowmaking at the resort means that they can always provide extra coverage in the high-traffic spots. This should be an ideal weekend getaway for classic northeastern skiing and riding.
Our trip leaders design an itinerary that highlights the best spots in Loon to make sure you don't miss out on any of the fun. It's published in a printed handout and updated on a devoted Twitter feed, with up-to-the-minute announcements you can receive on your cell phone.

The on-mountain adventure begins bright and early on Saturday. We divide into skill level groups that help you identify the other skiers and snowboarders who enjoy the same terrain that you do, and then we divide and conquer the mountain!

In general, you'll spend most of the day in a smallish group of four or five skiers or boarders -- but that's up to you. The BUMS are a social crowd, so it's always easy to find others to join in the fun.

You and your group will set your own pace, and it's common to mix it up with a few different groups throughout the weekend. This is your getaway, so you're always free to break away and do your own thing.

We meet as a group for lunches and après-ski. On Saturday night, we've got a private dinner party just for us, and the trip ends with our infamous bus party home!

Prepare to bond; by the end of the weekend, it'll feel like you've been gone longer than we have. And mark your calendar for
Avalanche, where you'll be able to all see one another again!

Sometimes you just need an easy escape from the city. When it's the dead of winter, and New Yorkers are bundling up and hibernating, it's exciting to know that you've got a weekend full of adventure... and it's just a quick bus ride away. For Bostonians? A mere two hour drive.

Our 2015 trips to Loon and
Gore are designed with one big word in mind: affordability. You won't have to spend your vacation days, or a lot of dough. By staying a short drive away from the mountain, hosting pizza parties, chartering a bus and hosting our famous après-ski party on the bus ride home, you'll have a total blast... without breaking the bank.

Here a few quick steps to help you prepare for our trip!

PACKING TIPS | You'll probably want to bring two bags: 1) a small backpack with stuff you can just bring to / from the mountain, especially if you'd like to change into street clothes before aprés-ski, and 2) an overnight bag with everything you'll need for the hotel. You'll also want to pack a swimsuit for the pool, and drinks & snacks are fun for the road trip!

PLAN TO DRESS FOR THE ELEMENTS
| It's crucial that you're properly dressed for the mountain. All Loon participants must wear helmets. For additional tips on how to dress for a fun day of skiing and snowboarding in any conditions, visit our in-depth guide: "How to Dress for the Mountain."

NEED NEW GEAR? | SKI BUMS members get excellent discounts at Backcountry.com. 30%-50% off!

WATCH THE WEATHER | Remember that the weather at upper altitudes is very different from what's happening down in town; be sure to follow an on-mountain forecast like this one to see what's happening up at the ski resort.

The parties are a big part of our social element for this trip -- you'll have a lot of fun time to really get to know the other BUMS. Our trip includes a welcome party on Friday upon arrival at our hotel, where you'll meet one another, along with the trip leaders. On Saturday, we'll have a private dinner party after skiing & riding. On Sunday, one of the real highlights of the weekend happens: our après-ski bus party home. This is a rollocking event that you'll never forget: we turn up the speakers, play dance music, and celebrate the weekend as we roll down the interstate. With ice-cold beers, oversized cocktails in big SOLO cups and a whole lot of laughs, many of the BUMS will be on their feet for the whole ride home. Don't plan on sleeping -- that's what the week is for!
We've got our own charter bus for this trip, transporting us between midtown Manhattan and the resort. It will be our primary method of getting around for the whole weekend. Additionally, we are arranging a carpool for those who live in Boston. There is a limited number of spots available for those who are not on our bus. The trip is $50 cheaper if you are driving, and you can select this option during signup.
It's about a five-and-a-half hour drive to our hotel. Upon arrival, we'll have a quick key distribution and you'll be free to settle into your rooms. No credit cards are required at check-in.
We send important pre-trip Info Packs via email. If you're not seeing them, contact us right away. Gmail users have extra difficulties in getting our messages, and should click here to learn more.
